Sunday's trip on the River Barle IS going ahead. But with water levels as low as they are, it will be a bump and scrape. So come prepared to hit a few rocks!

If that is the case Pam......then I going to borrow a pair of padded cycling shorts as those rocks are going to be hitting the underside of my kayak. cheers Pip

I wonder why they haven't designed and manufactured some cunning device with which one could shield the undersurface of one's boat, for eventualities just like this. After all there must be thousands of us canoeists who do these mad tricks every weekend (hitting rocks!)

Well being rather personal....my bum survived the trip with little discomfort, as the river was higher than expected. As for my kayak it is a good job that the rocks in the Barle are rounded, otherwise I think the kayak would have been a lot thinner by the end of the trip. I great days paddling amongst friends. Thanks for your company, with a little entertainment along the way in terms of swimmers. cheers for now, Pip

Had a great day out. Great area, great weather bit low on water but great people, and it would not be the same if you were not there Pip.
